Tapestry (jacquard) knitting: In this technique, you knit with one thread and attach one or more additional threads to alternate colors. Color change:

2nd row: 2 sc in each st = 12 sc (transfer the marker to the first st of each row). Bind off last st of row with gray yarn. Cut off the pink thread.
Row 3 (with gray thread): *1 sc, 2 sc in next st* – repeat 6 times = 18 sts.

Leave a long thread for stitching.
HEAD ASSEMBLY:
Turn your head to the side where it will be in front. Sew on the eyes approximately at the level of the 25th row at a distance of 4 cm from each other.
Sew ears 7 rows higher, 1 cm from the center of the eye. Fold them in half as you sew.
FINAL ASSEMBLY:
Choose the back and front of the bag. Sew the straps 1 row below the back center tabs as shown in the photo.
Sew the lower ends of the straps to the row where the hippo pattern begins, as shown in the photo.
Attach the head to the backpack by sewing the end of the back to the top of the backpack (attach the head with pins first to get it in the correct position).
Pass the cord through the loops.
Insert the ends of the cord into the plug. Make knots at both ends and adjust.
The backpack is ready.
